Times Critic FAILS TO APOLOGIZE DESPITE FUROR

While NY Times Dance Critic Alastair Macaulay acknowledges the furor he created through his snarky comments about the weight of two NYCB principal dancers, he fails to apologize, digging his pointy little feet deeper into the cesspool.

The dancers, featured here, are clearly nowhere near overweight, even for professional dancers.

We wonder who drugged his sugar plums and made him king for the day?

  1. The dancers are not only "nowhere near overweight," they look like they don't have more than half a pound of body fat combined. Indeed, the female dancer has struggled with anorexia. She appears emaciated to myself and to everyone I know who is familiar with this 'scandal'. I highly doubt that her weight is even a three-digit number. A. Macaulay has a very sick, distorted view of what dancers' bodies should look like--yes, they ought to be lean, but one needs quite a bit of muscle to dance as well. And in terms of aesthetics, few people find dancing skeletons appealing.
